I'm sorry it took me so long to get back to you.

Jean -- Going to my church isn't a bad idea. :) I think you have made a good point here, about speaking the truth in love -- how interesting, we also studied that passage in Ephesians.

Jim -- Welcome to the blog! Thanks for reading and leaving your comment. I had forgotten about how the importance of thankfulness related to that passage in 1 Corinthians, but I think that when I last read it, that truth occurred to me. Thanks for sharing and refreshing my memory. :)

Thank you all again. The gratitude is very, very important.Jim Wetzelhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07358539074647113747noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3252330864165284250.post-13909600713897779392009-05-06T07:22:00.000-04:002009-05-06T07:22:00.000-04:00What a thought-provoking post, Herky. Maybe I'll need to visit your church. :)

Whether it's good times or bad, just like little kids we are prone to that rebellious independence that makes us the center of the universe.

And just like little kids, when our politicians or our parents or our church declare how wonderful we are, instead of speaking the truth, they encourage that rebelliousness.

But God's word says we are to grow up, speaking the truth in love, and the truth, as you've stated, is that God deserves all the glory, not man.

Thanks for this, my friend. I'll be chewing on it today.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
